Flagle is the free online daily puzzle game where you guess the hidden country flag in six tries or less. Inspired by Wordle, Flagle gives you one clue per wrong guess: a slice of the flag is revealed, along with how far off your guess is and in what direction. It takes about two minutes to play, requires no download, and a new flag puzzle unlocks every day at midnight. Millions of word-game fans now play Flagle as part of their daily puzzle routine alongside Wordle, Worldle, and Globle.
Flagle is a geography-based word game in the style of Wordle. Instead of guessing a five-letter word, you're guessing which country's flag is hidden behind a blank grid. Each incorrect guess reveals one portion of the flag — after your first wrong guess you see one-sixth of the image, and every subsequent miss uncovers more — while also giving you geographic feedback on how close your guess was.
The game is designed for short, repeatable daily play: one official puzzle per day, shared by everyone worldwide, so you can compare results with friends. Once you solve (or fail) the daily Flagle, bonus rounds test your knowledge of the country's shape, capital city, and borders.
How to Play
- Look at the blank grid. The screen shows an empty flag divided into six tiles, plus an input box.
- Type your first guess. Enter a country name (autocomplete helps you pick the correct spelling) and submit it.
- Read the clue. If you're wrong, one tile of the flag is uncovered, and you get a geographic hint showing the distance and direction from your guessed country to the answer.
- Guess again with less than six tries. Each new guess reveals another sixth of the flag and a new distance clue.
- Solve it or lose the round. Identify the flag within six guesses to win, then play the bonus rounds on the country's shape, capital, and borders.
- Share your score. Use the share button to post your spoiler-free result grid, Wordle-style.
Controls
- Keyboard: Type the country name in the guess box; press Enter to submit.
- Mouse: Click the input field, pick a country from the autocomplete dropdown, and click the submit button.
- Touch (mobile): Tap the guess field to open the on-screen keyboard; tap suggestions to autocomplete.
- Share button: Copies your emoji result grid to the clipboard for sharing on social media or messaging apps.
- Archive navigation (premium): Use the date picker to replay past daily flags.

Platforms
Flagle is a web-based game: it works on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, and mobile browsers (iOS Safari and Android Chrome) with no app install required. There is no official Steam or console release. Note that unrelated apps named "Flagle" exist on the App Store from different developers — the official browser game lives at flagle.io. An unlimited/practice variant is available at third-party sites such as flagleunlimited.fun.
Tips and Strategies
Start with a flag-dense continent. Your first guess should be a country whose flag shares colors and symbols with many others — Italy, Japan, or Nigeria give you fast process-of-elimination data.
Use the distance clue as much as the image. The direction-and-distance arrow is often more precise than a half-revealed flag. If your guess is 8,000 km from the answer, eliminate entire continents immediately.
Learn the common flag patterns. Horizontal tricolors (France, Russia, Italy), pan-African colors (Ghana, Senegal, Mali), and pan-Arab colors (Egypt, Syria, Iraq) recur constantly — recognizing the family narrows the field fast.
Watch for stars, circles, and emblems. The revealed slice often shows a canton star, sun, or crescent — high-information features that distinguish otherwise similar tricolors.
Don't waste guesses on near-duplicates. If the clue could be Chad, Romania, or Moldova, use the distance hint to pick the single best candidate rather than guessing all three.
Play the bonus rounds. The shape, capital, and borders challenges cement the answer in memory, so you'll recognize that flag next time — Flagle rewards long-term geography learning.
